An evidence based CPD accredited hands-on food and nutrition workshop

exploring the intertwined relationships 
between farm, soil, food, kitchen & health.
Designed for everyone involved in healthcare, especially GP's, students of medicine & allied health professionals.
With greater food and nutrition knowledge, we are better placed 
to help individuals & communities know food as medicine.

Workshop participants will gain

how to access healthy, accessible & affordable food

Simple culinary techniques that help preserve nutrition 
making healthy eating more achievable every day

Ways to avoid food waste
plenty of tips to keep food out the bin

Knowledge on whole foods and the food matrix
why nutrients behave differently in whole foods compared with isolated nutrients

Greater understanding of food as biological information
including how dietary patterns influence metabolic signalling and inflammatory pathways.

 

Confidence in discussing food and dietary patterns 
moving beyond nutrient reductionism to a more holistic understanding of diet.

Hands on kitchen experience
building practical knowledge that can guide conversations about cooking and diet.

Whole Food Medicine operates a sliding scale payment.

If you're able, we encourage you to buy a supporter ticket.  Your generosity supports students to attend and strengthens our mission to promote healthier lives, community and planet.

Tickets for a day workshop include all refreshments, lunch & workshop resources.

  • Health professionals - £175

       (GP's, Hospital doctors & alternative practitioners) 

  • Nutritank professional members - £140​

  • Supporter -  £250

       (supporter funding enables more students to attend)

Haymans Farm is a beautiful Wealden pasture farm situated near to the hamlet of Shillinglee in West Sussex.It comprises 152 acres of lowland grassland and lies adjacent to Chiddingfold Forest,a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) for butterflies.It is a family farm where for many years the land was used for sheep grazing and haymaking.More recently it has become home to a small herd of pasture-fed White Park cattle and a growing market garden.Slightly off the beaten track, it is an absolute haven for wildlife and has a rich diversity of animal and plant species.
